I HAVE JUST RECENTLY COMPLETED AN ANIMATION WHICH NEEDED THE CAMERA FLYING TOWARD AN OAK DOOR WITH BRASS FITTINGS,IN A NORMAL LOOKING ROOM, AND THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN TO REVEAL AN AMIGA2000 WITH MONITOR FLOATING IN SPACE...( THE AMIGA PLUS MONITOR CAN BE FOUND IN A FILE CALLED A2000+1084 ) AND ENCLOSED IN THIS HERE ARCHIVE FILE YOU WILL HOPEFULLY FIND BOTH THE DOOR AND ROOM OBJECTS. IF NOT, THEN I SCREWED UP SOMETHIN' AWFUL!
ALL OBJECTS HAVE BEEN NAMED CORRECTLY, AS I FIND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE SOMETHING WHEN IT IS NAMED "AXIS.37", OR "PART.105", AS I FORGET, TOO,...PROBABLY A SIGN OF OLD AGE AND CREEPING SENILITY, BUT, NEVERTHELESS, OR NEVERTHEMORE?,...I DO A LOT OF "TWEEKING" TO MY OBJECTS ( PLEASE DONT TELL MY MOTHER?! ) AND I FIND THAT NAMING THEM IS THE EASIEST WAY TO LOCATE THEM LATER...
THERE IS ALSO A "HOT-SPOT" AXIS, USED AS THE "PARENT" OF THE ENTIRE GROUP, OR GROUPS, FOR EASE OF MOVING, SCALING, ETC., AND I HAVE NAMED THE "DOOR.GROUP" AXIS= "DOOR.AXIS", AND THE "ROOM.AXIS.GROUP"= "ROOM.AXIS", CLEVERLY ENOUGH, AND BOTH ARE EASY TO FIND IN THE "FIND OBJECT REQUESTER"
ALTHOUGH MANY FOLKS WILL SAY THAT ONCE YOU'VE SEEN ONE DOOR, YOU HAVE SEEN EM ALL, MORE OR LESS...AND TO A SMALL EXTENT, THAT'S TRUE, BUT EACH DOOR HAS A DIFFERENT SHAPE, SIZE, WOOD GRAIN, ETC...AND THIS IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THEM..( HARD TO ARGUE WITH LOGIC LIKE THAT, ISNT IT? )
THIS DOOR IS CONSTRUCTED OF 19 INDIVIDUAL PANELS OR SHAPES, EACH WITH IT'S OWN SETTINGS ( USING THE WOOD TEXTURE FUNCTION ), FOR GRAIN PLACEMENT, SIZING, SHAPE, AND COLOR. THE COLOR AND GRAIN ARE A COMBINATION OF OAK AND CHERRY, MODIFIED AND THE TWEEKED A BIT MORE. IF YOU HAVENT USED THE WOOD TEXTURE MUCH, THE PANELS WILL SERVE AS SOME GOOD EXAMPLES OF HOW TO ACHIEVE DIFFERENT LOOKS WITHOUT MUCH DRASTIC NUMBER CHANGES IN THE INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS, SO THAT EACH ITEM, OR OBJECT WITHIN A GROUP,
WILL LOOK SLIGHTLY UNIQUE WHILE STILL LOOKING THE SAME...IF YOU GET MY DRIFT..........TO STARBOARD...
THE DOORKNOB, HINGES, AND STRIKE PLATES ARE BRASS, AND I SUGGEST USING A GOLD OR BRASS REFLECTION MAP IN THE GLOBALS SETTING FOR "GLOBAL BRUSH". I HAVE DETAILED THE DOORKNOB GROUP TO A FAIRLY FINE EXTENT, BUT I DID CHEAT A LITTLE BY NOT PUTTING THE
SLOTS ON THE SCREW-HEADS...ONLY BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SEEN ON THE ANIMATION ANYWAY.
AS WITH ANY ARTIST, COMPUTER OR OTHERWISE, I WOULD LIKE CREDIT FOR MY WORK, ( WHETHER GOOD OR BAD )...SO THESE OBJECTS ARE COPYRIGHTED, BUT FREELY DISTRIBUTABLE, WHICH IN SIMPLER TERMS MEANS, PLEASE USE THEM, ( OR ABUSE THEM! ), AND PASS THEM ALONG...HOWEVER, PLEASE LEAVE THIS ENTIRE ARCHIVE INTACT...SO THIS "READ.ME" FILE MUST GO ALONG WITH THE OBJECTS FOR THE RIDE TO WHERE-EVER!...AND IF YOU DO USE THEM IN YOUR ANIMS OR STILLS, OR WHATEVER, PLEASE GIVE ME CREDIT BY NAME FOR THE ORIGINAL MODELLING...AND LASTLY, IF YOU DO USE THEM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW OR SEND ME A PIC, IFF OR DCTV, OR WHATEVER, AS I AM ALWAYS CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT OTHER ARTISTS DO WITH SIMILAR OBJECTS...MUCH LIKE THE OLD CLICHE, "TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE"...
( UNLESS, OF COURSE, YOU ARE BUYING A HAT, OR HAVE A HEADACHE, I SUPPOSE?! )
BUT I DIGRESS, AGAIN...OH, YEH, BY THE WAY, MY BACKGROUND IS AS A GRAPHIC ARTIST/ILLUSTRATOR, AND BEFORE I HAD AN AMIGA, OR ANY COMPUTER, I WAS AN AIRBRUSH ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOGRAPHER, AND ALSO A JOURNALIST...I ONLY MENTION THIS VIA WAY OF APOLOGY, BECAUSE WHEN TYPING OUT A DRAFT, WE ALWAYS TYPED DOUBLE-SPACED AND ALL CAPS..I HAVE MANAGED TO LOOSE THE DOUBLE-SPACING, BUT THE ALL CAPS STILL REMAINS...SO BEG UR PARDON, OR EXCUUUUSE MEEE!...BUT I AM NOT REALLY YELLING AT YOU ON THE BBS!..IM JUST IMPOLITE...ALSO, JOURNALISTS GET PAID BY THE WORD..BUT YOU PROBLABLY ALREADY REALIZED THAT, RIGHT?!
( GET IT?...PROBLABLY...PRO-BLAB-LY...A PUN?!..OH, NEVER MIND! )
ENJOY...AND PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK, OK?...
